Claire is trapped in the apartment where she died, unable to be seen or heard by the living. But when she sees her new roommate, Rachel, going down the same dark path that led to her own death, she must find a way to communicate.

"Lapsed" is ultimately a story about failure to communicate, loneliness, and the way society reacts to and sensationalizes mental health and death. It also critiques and explores the way mental health is treated in the horror genre.

Bone To Pick

During the COVID-19 pandemic, UCI Digital Filmmaking students had to take classes on Zoom, and were assigned to use small wooden manikins to study lighting and shot structure. This exercise was shot on a smartphone with no film equipment.
